For next Monday’s class, I’d like to continue the discussion about feminist performance (Diana Raznovich’s Casa Matrix, Denise Stoklas’s Essential Theatre, Diana’s essay on Stoklas & her introduction to Holy Terrors). Are there any videos we can see of Raznovich’s plays or other rare videotapes of Stoklas? Also what are the economic issues involved for all of these artists: how do they survive “at large,” without government subsidies? How have they developed a following? Also, who are the next generation of women performers in Latin America and what are they doing?
