About Us

The e-gallery presents work by visual and performance artists working in the Americas whose art functions as a form of social and political intervention. As part of the Hemispheric Institute’s online journal e-misférica, each e-gallery exhibit will be dedicated to the exploration of this work, be it photography, mural art, painting, sculpture, installation, comics, net art, etc. Each exhibit will feature the work of a distinguished artist from the Americas, and will include a collaborative community based project and links to artists’ websites.

In keeping with mission of the Hemispheric Institute of Performance and Politics, the e-gallery offers a space for this work to be known, contextualized and archived.
