Frances Pollitt is a multimedia designer and photographer. She is inspired by and excited to be part of the Hemispheric Institute of Performance and Politics. Projects she has completed since joining the Institute in April 2009 include: the web cuadernos Arte ≠ Vida: A Chronology of Actions by Artists of the Americas, 1960–2000 and Multiple Journeys: The Life and Work of Gómez-Peña; the e-misférica 7.2 multimedio La Geometría de la conciencia featuring the work of Alfredo Jaar; the States of Devotion blog as part of the Religion and Politics in the Americas initiative, and the development of Special Collections. Frances held related positions as Digital Library Web Designer for the American Museum of Natural History (2001–04), and full-time faculty in the Digital Media Department at Katharine Gibbs School–New York. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Journalism and Mass Communications and received her MFA in Photography and Related Media from the School of Visual Arts.
