Marcos Steuernagel is a PhD candidate in the department of Performance Studies at NYU. He holds an MA in Performance Studies from NYU, and a Certificate in Cinema and Video and a B.A. in Theater Directing from Faculdade de Artes do Paraná, in Brazil. His research looks at performance and politics in Brazil, specifically at ways in which political events are processed in and through the body in contemporary Brazilian theater and dance.
