El Hábito

Teatro Bar El Hábito was a cabaret/performance space in Coyoacán, Mexico City, founded in 1990 by Jesusa and Liliana. In collaboration with their theater cooperative, Las Divas, Jesusa and Liliana produced, directed, and performed hundreds of shows in their fifteen years at El Hábito. In 2005, they passed the torch to another cabaret group, Las Reinas Chulas, who changed the venue's name to El Vicio. Since its inception, El Hábito/El Vicio has been a hotbed for intellectuals, feminists, gay rights activists, and open-minded, progressive people wishing to be engaged by smart, critical humor.
