On Translation: Fear/Miedo
On Translation: Fear/Miedo (produced in collaboration with InSite 05 San Diego) was broadcast as a television intervention in San Diego and Tijuana. Dealing with the concept of the“border,” Muntadas explores the transformations that occur in individual lives as a result of the “system” that links these subjects to overtly political boundaries.
Antoni Muntadas is a renowned multimedia artist who explores the relationship between public and private space, investigating channels of information and the ways they may be used to censor central information or promulgate ideas. He is currently Visiting Professor at the Visual Arts Program in the School of Architecture at M.I.T. (Cambridge, MA) and the Instituto Universitario de Arquitectura del Veneto (Venice, Italy). He is the recipient of numerous awards, grants, and prizes from important institutions including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
