Biographies
Laurie Beth Clarke is a Performance, Video and Installation artist and a Professor of Art at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her work has been recognized with funding from the Art Matters, Arts Midwest, Film in the Cities, Jerome Foundation, McKnight Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, and the Wisconsin Arts Board. Since 2001, Clarke has been working on a global comparative study of trauma memorials, titled Always Already Again: Trauma Tourism and the Politics of Memory Culture.
Nicholas Mirzoeff is Professor of Media, Culture and Communication at NYU and author of many books in the field. He serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Visual Culture, Cultural Studies, Social Text and Photography and Culture and is Deputy-Director of the International Association of Visual Culture, coPI for the Alliance for Networking Visual Culture and co-ordinating editor at Media Commons.
