Portée

Portée is a sculptural installation made of pots and pans that has been transformed into a tool of resistance during the student strike in 2012. The audio work includes the sound recorded during a demonstration and voices of protesters who describe their experiences related to the Casseroles Movement in Quebec.

Biography

Marilou André is a visual artist from Montreal. Her urban interventions and sculptural installations examine urban space, community, activism to create new forms of memories. She is pursuing a Master’s degree in sculpture at Concordia University. She is a recipient of the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada Fellowship.
