Homos in the House (Overture) (1995)

Homos in the House (Overture) (1995) HIDVL

This workshop performance (rap/song/dance) became the overture for Djola Banner's first full-length play, Homos in the House, which premiered at Intermedia Arts in Minneapolis in 1998. The play served up a searing response to black homophobia in the 1990s, particularly as it pertained to the spread and prevention of HIV and AIDS in the African-American community during the worst of the pandemic.
