Peça original de trapézio em que a artista combina o movimento no trapézio com a narração de sua história ao sobreviver o abuso sexual e o desenvolvimento conseqüente de uma identidade trans-genérica.
Biografia:
Anna Jacobs é ativista, professora e performer. Atualmente é candidata a mestrado na The Gallatin School for Individualized Studies, New York University. Seu trabalho na Gallatin foca no desenvolvimento de instrumentos para combinar o trabalho anti-opressão com as artes criativas na educação. O trabalho de Ana está estruturado pelo seu compromisso com a justiça social, política e econômica assim como sua luta pessoal como sobrevivente da violência como menina, "queer" e pessoa transsexual.
The Story of a Boy Born a Girl
Original trapeze piece in which the artist combines movement on trapeze with the telling of her story of surviving sexual abuse and the subsequent development of a transgendered identity.
Biography
Anna Jacobs is an activist, teacher and performer. Currently Anna is a Master’s Candidate at The Gallatin School for Individualized Studies, New York University. Her work at Gallatin is focused on developing tools for combining anti-oppression work with the creative arts in education. Anna’s work is informed by her ongoing commitment to social, political and economic justice, as well as her personal struggle with surviving violence as a girl, queer and transgendered person.
